Socks & Colonial Dames

Here are my finished Nanners - 3 weeks - it is a record.
Today I spoke on schoolgirl samplers for the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century.
And here is a picture of me with Elizabeth - my "other mother" and dear, dear friend.

More stash......

The Loopy Ewe is my very favorite yarn shop online. Right now the hot yarn is called Wollmeise.
You have no idea what it took to get this yarn. I had to beat 3 old ladies with my handbag.
Ok, so not really, I just got lucky. I happened to log into Loopy when it went up, and I snagged this and one other. By the time I put in my paypal, I only made it out with this one and the whole rest of the lot was gone. I'm not complaining - I just wanted to HAVE some to know what all the fuss was about. It's cool - the color is amazing. I think I'm going to make Firestarter socks with this one.

And now I give you the bird:

Bogey says "Put that thing down and let me out."

Nanner #1

So silly me, I signed up for a little thing called Ravelympics on Ravelry. I said I'd complete my Nanners socks (by Wendy Knits) between opening ceremonies and closing ceremonies. Start to finish.

And there might be a snowball's chance in Atlanta that I can finish. I actually finished one whole sock in 9 days (cast on Friday during opening ceremonies and cast off at 9 pm last night).
